Erayser - A Brief History
Ever since the middle-ages women have used various methods to improve skin-quality and especially to remove unwanted hair-growth. The electrolysis needle-device was first used in 1875, and is medically proven as giving permanent hair-removal, though the process is both painful and time-consuming. Electric tweezers have been around for about 60 years in spite of an absence of published medical proof of their effectiveness, though it would seem that hair re-growth after treatment is much finer and the hair lighter.

Photothermic Hair-Removal
The first laser devices for hair-removal were presented in 1995, followed by flash lamp devices in 1997 (intense pulsed-light systems). This method of hair-removal has become quite popular during recent years due to the ease of treating large areas quickly. The light-beam's wavelength (single waveband) should correspond with the absorbing colour of the hair, and the skin should preferably be white, which means that the most suitable patients for this treatment are white-skinned with black hair. According to the literature, the use of laser/lPL technology on Asian and black skin often leads to blister formation and irreparable pigmentation changes. Further, neither white nor blond hair are suitable for this technique since the hair contains too little absorber-pigment for it to be able to transfer the heat to the hair-root.

IPT Hair-Removal
After 5 years' research a new concept for hair-removal without side-effects has been launched on the market. The Erayser device producing the IPT light-beams is equipped with large surface scanner heads for the treatment of unwanted body hair, as well as precision heads for the treatment of nose hair or eyebrows. The IPT light-beam contains an intensive radiation of mixed wavebands:

1. A waveband for pain relief and cell protection,
2. A waveband for improving and regenerating skin-quality,
3. A mixed waveband for the elimination of undesired hair-roots (hair removal) .
